Venture Talk : Beyond Marketing B#sh!t Innovation
You're certainly heard the adjectives "innovative" or "disruptive" mentioned a dozen time in the last 24 hours likely as a way to get people's attention around an event, project or product.
Yet few people ask why or how projects are innovative or disruptive.Beyond the marketing hype, there is a rich set of design and strategy toolkits that you can use to drive your creative activities.
Laurent Balmelli will go over to the most interesting ones and explain how he used them in his own projects and how you can do it as well.
Hello, thanks for reading my bio! A few things that I have done before this talk and some that I will likely pursue after:
Since 2011 to today, I run my activities through an innovation consulting company, Sana Elias and help several companies develop their business and innovate.
Until March 2020, I was the director of Snap Switzerland and managing cyber-security technologies for Snap Inc. and its affiliated apps.
I co-founded multiple start-ups in particular one, strong.codes, in the domain of software security that was bought by Snap, Inc in 2016.
I worked 12 years for IBM in New York and Tokyo across three business divisions (Research, Product Development, CTO office).
I received both my engineering and doctorate degrees from EPFL in 1996 and 2000, respectively. I did my PhD under the supervision of Prof. Martin Vetterli who is the current president of EPFL
I also do quite a lot of volunteering with coaching start-ups at EPFL (Trust Tech acceleration Program), Y-Park and Mass Challenge (invited speaker).
I am working now on my new start-up and looking for candidates to start July 2020: contact me for more information by sending a message on LinkedIn.
