Switzerland Innovation Park Network West EPFL

SIP West EPFL has just passed an important milestone by signing an agreement creating a contractual relationship with the national foundation, and formalising the distribution of tasks between it and the organisation responsible for the various sites located in French-speaking Switzerland.

Switzerland Innovation Park Network West EPFL, the skills network resulting from five cantons joining forces – Vaud, Geneva, Valais, Neuchâtel and Fribourg –, has taken an important step in its organisational structuring.

On February 9th, an affiliation agreement was signed between SIP West EPFL and the Switzerland Innovation Park national foundation by the two co-presidents, Jean-Nathanaël Karakash and Philippe Leuba, state councillors for the cantons of Neuchâtel and Vaud respectively. This took place during SIP West’s general assembly meeting, in the presence of EPFL president Martin Vetterli, vice president Marc Gruber and state councillors Olivier Curtry (Fribourg) and Jean-Michel Cina (Valais).

By giving formal legal status to the relationship between the SIP West EPFL and the national structure, future endeavours will have a firmer foundation.

It is worth recalling that Switzerland Innovation Park Network West EPFL is in fact already in operation and ready to host companies looking to move to the EPFL Innovation Park in Ecublens, Lausanne Biopôle, Campus Biotech in Geneva, Campus Energypolis in Sion, Microcity in Neuchâtel and Bluefactory in Fribourg. At these sites, they can benefit from a scientific environment, the possibility of contact with leading academic figures, and an ecosystem that encourages the emergence of new products and services.
